The new hospital earns its "H"

The new Dawson Creek and District Hospital now has a familiar symbol taking its place on the building this week.

The installation of the hospital's iconic blue "H" sign marks another exciting milestone as work continues on the new facility. Recognized across Canada as a symbol of health care, the "H" is one of the most visible signs that the project is moving closer to welcoming patients, families, staff, and visitors.

Using a crane and lift equipment, crews carefully installed the sign on the hospital's exterior tower, where it will eventually serve as a prominent visual landmark for the facility.

While the sign has now been installed, you will notice that it remains covered. The cover is intentional and will stay in place until closer to, or on, opening day to help avoid any confusion and remind community members that the new hospital is not open and operational.
