Preferred Design and Construction Team Announced for UHNBC Acute Care Tower Project

Northern Health is pleased to announce the selection of the preferred proponent team for the design and construction of the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) Acute Care Tower Project.

The successful team includes:

  • EllisDon Corporation – Construction
  • DIALOG BC Architecture Engineering and Interior Design Planning Inc. – Design

The next phase in the procurement process is the selection of the Electrical and Mechanical Alliance participants, which is anticipated to be completed by December 2025. The four Alliance partners, along with Northern Health and Infrastructure BC, will then enter the Alliance Development Phase, which will continue through to fall 2026. The Northern Interior Health Unit relocation is estimated for spring 2026, construction of the tower is expected to begin in fall 2026, and the tower is projected to open for patients in winter 2031.
