Construction preparation begins

Work is getting underway on the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) Acute Care Tower Project, with early site preparation activities beginning this month.
These initial activities are an important first step in preparing the hospital campus for construction of the new acute care tower. Over the coming weeks, crews will be conducting site investigations, installing fencing, removing trees, completing utility work, and carrying out other preparatory tasks.
As this work progresses, patients, visitors, and staff may notice some temporary changes around the site. These may include impacts to parking availability, access routes, traffic flow, and noise levels in certain areas.
Patient care and hospital services will continue as usual.
We appreciate everyone's patience as work moves forward. We'll continue to share updates as construction progresses and as any site impacts change.
Stay tuned for more information on this exciting project and what it means for the future of health care in Northern BC.
